This addon automates the creation of 3D meshes from 2D images, generating cutout meshes with clean quad topology. It processes images with built-in alpha channels or utilizes separate black-and-white mask textures to define the cutout boundary. Users can control the mesh density with separate X and Y subdivision settings, which is useful for optimizing non-square shapes like blades of grass. Additional geometry controls include mask offset adjustments, outer edge smoothing using normal or Laplacian methods, and the option to generate outline-only edge boundaries without internal faces.
For bulk workflows, the tool supports batch processing entire folders of images and can automatically separate disconnected regions within a single image into individual mesh islands. Generated assets can be stacked at the origin or laid out side by side. The addon also features an integrated shrink-wrap system designed to project the generated cutouts onto target surfaces, including a sliding function that prevents mesh stretching while repositioning the decal over the underlying geometry.
