PSX Toolkit

PSX Toolkit provides a suite of tools for recreating the aesthetic of PlayStation 1 graphics. The add-on features a dedicated N-panel widget to manage a variety of retro rendering effects. It includes global and camera-based vertex snapping with jittering over time, simulating classic 32-bit hardware limitations. The toolkit implements vertex lighting, or Gouraud shading, with customizable sun, point, and spotlights. It also offers distance-based object and vertex culling, alongside classic vertex fog effects.

The toolkit incorporates specific shader and compositing elements tailored for the retro aesthetic. Included materials feature affine texture mapping to recreate wobbly textures, alongside texture pixelation and color quantization. A dedicated compositing node group provides further authentic finishing touches, including ordered dithering using Bayer matrices, image scaling, and a comprehensive CRT filter with scanlines, phosphor color triads, distortion, and vignette effects. The toolkit is optimized for use with the EEVEE render engine.
