Padding Inset is an experimental edit mode tool that provides an alternative method for insetting faces. It produces an equal distance everywhere along the inset, similar to CSS padding. Unlike standard inset operations, areas can merge into nothing and disappear.
The tool includes options to adjust inset size and an alignment parameter to correct potential missing faces. There is also a flat concave setting to create flat rounded corners instead of maintaining equal distance on concave corners. A toggle allows you to connect the inset face with the surrounding edges. Padding Inset is accessible through the viewport context menu in Face Select edit mode.
