Mechanical Rigging: Battle Mech

This 75-minute training course covers the workflow for rigging hard-surface mechanical models in Blender. Across five lessons, the tutorial demonstrates how to organize meshes to prevent unwanted bending, ensuring mechanical parts remain solid during animation. Techniques covered include configuring single-bone IK controllers for multi-jointed legs, setting up functional piston rigs that expand and contract correctly, and using constraints to build automatic ground detection without heavy simulations.

The course also details how to duplicate a completed leg rig across a quadrupedal model and set up animator-friendly controls for body sections and weapon turrets. Included with the video lessons are the base mech model, incremental progress files, a completed rig for study, and English subtitles.
