Lazy Baker is a texture baking utility that centralizes the creation and management of baked maps through a robust list system. It supports batch baking of standard Blender passes alongside custom map types, removing repetitive setup tasks. Users can generate pointiness, thickness via inverted ambient occlusion, material ID masks, and directly bake specific Principled BSDF attributes such as base color, metallic, and alpha. A material override system allows custom shader setups to be baked across multiple objects simultaneously.
The tool natively supports utility functions essential for game asset development, including channel packing to combine multiple passes into a single EXR file. Post-processing operations, such as automated denoising and anti-aliasing, are seamlessly handled by routing the baked results through Blender's compositor. Additional features include exploding mesh options to separate items and prevent intersection artifacts during baking, automated generation of merged preview objects, and batch FBX exporter functionality mapped to organizational collections.
