Bake Matcher

Bake Matcher is a workflow utility that automates the process of naming and matching high-poly and low-poly objects for baking. It applies standardized naming conventions with automatic numbering and suffixes to ensure compatibility with external texturing programs like Substance Painter, which rely on mesh names to prevent texture bleed.

The tool pairs corresponding meshes in 3D space using two distinct algorithms. The bounds mode calculates global mesh data to match the bounding box corners of objects, providing an automated solution with minimal setup. The origin mode compares object origin points, offering faster calculation times for scenes with dense or complex geometry. Bake Matcher also processes floating geometry parented to base high-poly objects. Built-in troubleshooting tools allow users to detect distance conflicts prior to execution and locate any unmatched meshes afterward.
