Tear Painter generates procedural fabric tears and fraying effects using brush strokes. The system provides controls for weft and warp threads, allowing customization of thread length, density, angle, and thickness. It includes multiple layers of detail such as weave patterns, preserved threads, fuzz, and border fuzz to simulate damaged textiles. Additional features include support for animated and simulated meshes, proxy transfer for high-poly models, UV mapping, and adjustable fabric thickness. The tool comes with ready-to-use presets and allows for fine-tuning through clump, roll, gravity, and noise parameters.
