Ribbing

Ribbing is a procedural knit fabric shader designed for realistic textile rendering in Blender. It generates ribbed knit patterns entirely through nodes without relying on image textures, allowing for infinite resolution and avoiding texture stretching. The material is compatible with both EEVEE and Cycles render engines. The shader provides a custom node group interface with adjustable parameters for pattern scale, fabric flexibility, hairiness, stitch width, and spacing. Users can adjust the knit and purl count to generate specific structural variations such as 1x1, 2x1, 1x2, and 2x2 ribbing. The procedural setup maintains visual detail for extreme close-up macro shots, making it suitable for fashion visualization, sportswear, and clothing accents like hems and cuffs.
