ImportAlias translates and imports Autodesk Alias data into native Blender objects. It converts Alias NURBS surfaces to meshes during import, and directly translates NURBS curves, subdivisions, shaders, and layers into Blender equivalents like curves, materials, and collections.
The import process offers several adjustable parameters to optimize the incoming data. You can define the tessellation tolerance to balance performance and mesh density, automatically flip normals to point outward, and merge imported meshes by collection. Creases from Alias subdivision surfaces are transferred as constant creases for rendering or further modeling.
