Ultimate Compositor Cavity is a compositor node group that generates screen-space cavity passes for EEVEE and Cycles renders. It adds angular ridge and valley highlighting similar to the cavity feature found in Blender's solid viewport mode. The node setup includes three primary controls to adjust the style of the cavity effect, allowing for thin ridges, contrast enhancement, depth emphasis, or ambient-occlusion style shading.
The tool calculates cavity based on the Z-depth pass of real geometry, meaning it does not apply to normal or bump map details and cannot process alpha-transparent faces. Due to computational intensity, it requires GPU compositing and is not recommended for real-time use. The effect size is limited to a maximum falloff of 64 pixels and does not automatically scale with render resolution.
