This setup combines a Geometry Nodes generator and a highly customizable shader to create crystal formations in Blender. The Geometry Nodes tool generates the base rock shapes, allowing users to create random variations through a seed parameter.
The included crystal material provides extensive control over the shading. Users can blend two colors with adjustable edge mixing, noise, and contrast. The shader includes controls for the Index of Refraction (IOR), dispersion, and a fake caustic effect for shadow transparency. It also features procedural surface details, including adjustable edge roughness and directional scratches. Debug masks are built in to preview the color mixing and roughness distribution.
