Procedural Crowds

Procedural Crowds is an add-on designed for generating and animating groups of 3D characters. The system includes over 50 optimized photoscanned human models with randomized clothing colors and skin tones for visual variety. Users can deploy crowds in multiple configurations, such as audiences looking at specific targets, circular gatherings, marching formations, and paths defined by curves. It also supports precise placement on mesh vertices or custom-painted weight maps.

The tool features specific generative tools like stadium seating generation with adjustable dimensions and a team color assignment feature for sports scenarios. Characters automatically use context-appropriate animations such as walking, cheering, or idling. The system utilizes Blender's simulation nodes to enable dynamic behaviors, allowing characters to avoid obstacles, track targets, or navigate randomized paths. Users can also configure complements like hats using vertex groups, or integrate their own custom 3D models into the generation system.
