Panel Cutter is a lightweight add-on that generates surface details directly from edges marked as sharp in Blender's edit mode. Operating from the specials menu in both object and edit modes, the tool quickly adds geometric complexity common in hard surface and sci-fi modeling.
By default, the add-on creates the panel cuts as a separate object for a non-destructive workflow, but users can choose to merge the results back into the source mesh. The tool includes features to randomize the varied heights of the panels and automatically assigns a vertex group to the generated geometry for easy selection. It accommodates mirrored objects seamlessly and is well-suited for high-poly detailing before normal map baking.
