FlaxFlow extends Blender's motion tracking panel and 3D viewport with an optical flow tracking system, automated filtering tools, and geometry generation utilities. The optical tracking system provides an alternative to Blender's native tracking to maintain tracking continuity across footage. The toolkit reduces manual tracking tasks by offering single-click operations for adding trackers backward and forward, applying recommended settings, and filtering track outliers based on movement deviation.
The add-on integrates an upgraded camera solver that sorts and color-codes trackers based on their relative solve errors, assisting in the identification of bad tracks. Tracking coverage and tracker counts per frame are dynamically displayed in the UI. Additionally, FlaxFlow includes 3D workflow tools that allow users to derive 3D positions directly from 2D footage clicks, stringing points together to generate basic proxy geometry. It also features a 3D point cloud generator to build sparse point clouds from grid dimensions.
