Fader is a workflow tool that allows users to adjust the transparency of objects directly from the viewport using a dedicated slider. It simplifies the process of making exterior surfaces semi-transparent, enabling users to see and modify internal structures like architectural interiors or mechanical parts without hiding the outer mesh entirely.
The tool operates in both Solid and Material Preview modes. If an object lacks a material, the tool assigns a default one, allowing for custom color adjustments in Solid mode. For objects with existing materials, it applies a base transparency overlay while preserving the original shader setup. The addon includes support for multi-object selection, allowing users to apply uniform transparency to several meshes while fine-tuning the active object. It also includes functions to handle meshes with multiple materials simultaneously and displays object names to help track fully transparent items.
