bFur is a procedural fur and hair creation tool designed specifically for Blender's Eevee render engine. It utilizes shell-texturing techniques, stacking alpha-clipped layers to generate depth and shadows without relying on traditional particle systems. The system is entirely shader-based and allows users to control parameters such as hair shape, curl size, twists, and simulated gravity effects.
The package includes the bFur Manager add-on, which automates the setup of height and flow maps so users can paint hair density, length, thickness, and flow direction directly onto their geometry in the 3D viewport. For exporting to other software, the add-on provides a conversion tool that turns the shell layers into actual geometry. Additionally, bFur includes compatible Shadergraphs for Unity (URP and HDRP) and a base material asset for Unreal Engine. It is not compatible with the Cycles render engine.
