Hair Lab is a procedural hair generation system for Blender that utilizes a curve-based drawing workflow. The toolset includes a Hair Painter system that generates strands, eyebrows, eyelashes, beards, and braids between two drawn Bezier curves. It provides over 25 custom geometry nodes for non-destructive grooming, allowing adjustments to density, curl tightness, wave amplitude, clumping, and child hair generation.
Specialized tools within the system include a Mesh to Hair node for converting sculpted meshes into dynamic strands, a Physics Proxy for wind and gravity simulation, and a Hair Card Maker for generating optimized real-time hair assets. Additional features include surface collision prevention, procedural fur generation, and tools for projecting textures onto hair strands.
