Pure Rain Smooth is an add-on that applies a stochastic mesh-smoothing effect using a rain filter implementation. Unlike deterministic smoothing methods such as the classical Laplacian, it drops random noise perturbations onto the mesh in anti-phase with the vertex normal, resulting in an emergent global smoothing effect without explicit diffusion.
The tool features curvature-weighted magnitude, ensuring displacement is scaled by local geometry peaks and valleys. Users can configure parameters including intensity, density, iterations, steepness, and maximum displacement limits to control the effect. It also includes optional tangential passes for a more uniform isotropic feel, interleaved tangents, and a Burst Rain Mode for continuous, timer-driven application on selected vertices in Edit Mode.
