Mocap Bone Lock is an add-on for cleaning up motion capture data by locking bones in place over time. It is designed to fix foot and hand sliding after retargeting, utilizing a non-destructive workflow based on the Non-Linear Animation (NLA) editor. The tool preserves the original motion data, allowing users to safely iterate on their cleanup process.
The add-on features two primary locking methods. Manual Mode lets users set a frame range and fade, manually adjusting bone placement using an Empty before baking the result. Auto Mode is optimized for longer motions and includes two detection types: Dip Detect, which locks bones based on vertical positioning for flat surfaces, and Velocity Detect, which locks bones based on movement speed. The tool is optimized for IK bones and maintains compatibility with rigs like Auto-Rig Pro.
