This shader node group allows you to overlay custom matcaps onto your existing materials in Blender's EEVEE render engine. Inspired by MMD sphere files and VRChat material setups, it uses overlay and add blending modes to combine the matcap effect with any underlying shader. It can be plugged into a Principled BSDF, custom toon shaders, or emissive materials. The matcap layer functions as a texture map that remains consistently on top of your base material and its textures.
