Lens Sim is a Blender camera add-on for physically inspired lens rendering using real-world optical data and patent-based lens models. Instead of a perfect pinhole-style camera, it introduces the character and imperfections of real glass, including distortion, chromatic aberration, vignetting, lens softness, breathing, and lens-dependent bokeh shapes.
It integrates directly into Blender camera workflows with Cycles and multi-camera support, including tools for camera conversion, focusing, aperture control, custom presets, and scene-specific tuning. The add-on includes extensive built-in lens libraries across focal ranges, plus macro, anamorphic, tilt-shift, soft-focus, split-diopter, and lens-dirt styles.
Advanced controls include custom aperture images, custom chromatic aberration ramps, distortion and squeeze controls, bokeh swirliness, extra depth-of-field manipulation, and lens editing/import pipelines. It is designed for artists pursuing cinematic, photographic realism and stylized lens behavior directly inside Blender.
