Grid Guides

Grid Guides provides customizable 3D reference planes to assist with precision modeling in Blender. Built using Geometry Nodes, this tool generates visual grid units aligned to the XY, YZ, and XZ planes, adapting dynamically to the project's measurement units. Users can adjust the overall scale, resolution, and subdivision of the guides, as well as alternate between cubic and spherical visual styles. An optional backface culling effect helps maintain a clean viewport by hiding rear-facing grid points.

The system includes advanced tracking capabilities, allowing the reference grid to follow the flow of another object's geometry dynamically. By selecting a target object, the grid automatically snaps to the location of specific vertices based on their geometry index. An offset parameter lets users fine-tune which part of the target mesh the guides align with, facilitating accurate vertex extrusions in continuous modeling workflows.
