This custom shader provides the illusion of realistic displacement on low-poly meshes using parallax mapping. It features a custom algorithm designed to deliver smooth occlusion without the warping or stepping artifacts sometimes found in parallax solutions. The shader includes support for shadow mapping by specifying a light object within the shader editor, as well as silhouette mapping for both planar and non-planar meshes. It also supports texture tiling and scaling, requiring only a base image texture and a standard height or displacement map to function.
