Armature Tools

This add-on provides workflows for generating and editing weighted bone chains based on mesh topology. It is primarily designed for rigging simple structures like hair cards, tails, and individual mesh islands. When generating new bones, the tool preserves existing weights while offering options to add or replace weights for the affected geometry. It includes automatic detection for mesh island start points, which is particularly useful for pointed structures.

Beyond mesh generation, the add-on maps bones to curve objects including Bezier, Nurbs, and Paths, accommodating cyclic curves and resolution settings. Editing capabilities simplify weight management by allowing you to dissolve or remove specific bones while automatically transferring their weights to parent or active bones. An included mode-switching utility detects connected armatures and meshes, streamlining transitions between Object, Edit, Pose, and Weight Paint modes without manual selection steps.
