Snapshot is a look development add-on that captures the current visual state of a scene, allowing users to explore different lighting, material, and camera setups without losing previous iterations. When a snapshot is taken, the tool records the exact positions and settings of lights, camera framing, world environments, material shader trees, object transforms, collection visibility states, and render settings.
These saved states can be reviewed in the Image Editor using a filmstrip interface. Users can compare snapshots side-by-side or cycle through them directly in the 3D viewport for A/B testing. The add-on includes a rating system to star favorites and filter down options until a final look is chosen. Once selected, Snapshot can automatically restore the chosen state and launch a render in an empty slot. The tool supports Cycles, EEVEE, and Workbench rendering engines.
