MetaBlRiger is an addon designed to create and manage Metahuman rigs directly within Blender, offering an alternative to Maya-based workflows. It generates DNA files from Metahuman facial topology meshes and loads them to create controller-driven facial bindings. Users can modify facial correction shape keys to refine facial expressions and maintain control over mesh deformation.
The tool handles both full-body and facial rigging. Once the setup is complete, the bindings can be exported as FBX files for integration into Unreal Engine 5. Recent updates include support for UE 5.6 DNA types and RBF corrective pose editing and previewing. The addon is exclusively compatible with Windows operating systems.
