Lineworks is an add-on that attaches rigged line strips and Grease Pencil strokes directly to the surface of character models. The generated lines automatically follow the underlying mesh deformations and include a custom rig to control the line appearance during animation. It is built to integrate with typical production workflows, allowing you to attach rigged lines even onto linked collections.

The tool requires the underlying character geometry to remain consistent. Generative modifiers like the Mirror modifier must be applied prior to adding lines, though Subsurf and Multires modifiers are fully supported. Destructive modifiers or deleting base mesh geometry after creation will break the generated line rigs. The add-on only functions with mesh objects.
