Decalify

Decalify is a geometry nodes modifier that flattens 3D meshes into decals while retaining their original 3D normals. The tool conforms the flattened mesh to the surface of a target object, offering control over how the decal wraps around complex curvature. Because it operates on geometry rather than texture maps, it maintains standard high-to-low poly baking workflows and allows for standard shader assignments.

The modifier includes several features to integrate decals seamlessly with underlying surfaces. It can transfer UV coordinates from the target mesh to the decal, ensuring continuous texturing. Projection methods include nearest surface and raycast options, with a shrinkwrap function that pulls the decal's border edge tightly against the target to eliminate floating gaps. Additionally, it offers normal blending at the borders for smooth transitions and can double as a general surface deform tool that retains a mesh's 3D depth.
