Align and Distribute adds precise object placement utilities to Blender, bringing functionality commonly found in vector applications like Inkscape to a 3D environment. It supports the alignment and distribution of various object types, including meshes, empties, lights, and cameras. Users can align items by their mathematical origins or the outer limits of their bounding boxes across any specified axis.
The tool offers both linear and grid distribution methods. One-dimensional distribution spaces objects out linearly, allowing users to choose between maintaining equal distances from center-to-center or ensuring equal physical gaps between bounding boxes. Two-dimensional grid distribution allows users to define exact cell sizes, grid dimensions, and precise placements relative to the active object on a chosen plane. Additional utilities provide options to randomize locations, swap positions between selected pairs, and snap items together.
