3DPrintify is an add-on that converts existing 3D models into geometry that simulates the appearance of FDM 3D prints. Accessed via a dedicated N-panel tab, the tool applies an automated modifier system to active objects. Users can adjust the specific layer height and tweak the geometric precision, which dictates how closely the generated curves follow the original mesh form.

The tool includes functionality to animate the object building layer by layer, mimicking the real-world manufacturing process. A customizable PLA plastic shader is also included. To ensure proper generation and optimal performance, input meshes must be manifold, triangulated, and scaled to real-world dimensions before applying the effect.
