RBDLab is an add-on that provides a comprehensive workflow for creating rigid body destruction and physics simulations. It features a boolean fracture system, known as RBDLab Fracture, which includes proxy generation to optimize calculation performance. The tool bridges rigid body dynamics with soft body effects, using a Geometry Nodes-based MetalSoft system to handle metal deformation and cloth physics.
The add-on automates the creation of secondary destruction elements, utilizing Geometry Nodes to generate procedural debris, dust, and smoke particles. It includes a normal data transfer tool designed to eliminate visible seams on curved and spherical fractures. RBDLab also provides automated export functionality for Alembic and USD formats, allowing fractured geometry and particle data to be reliably transferred to other applications or rendering pipelines.
