Physical Fog is an addon for generating volumetric atmosphere and haze. It features an automated domain system that creates fog volumes scaled to fit the entire scene or specific selected objects. The main volumetric system includes controls for modifying distance and height falloff, as well as breaking up the density using wind and global noise.
The tool also includes FogPlanes, a lightweight alternative using animated fog cards. These planes support flowmap animation, face-camera billboard toggles, and proximity fade to avoid harsh intersections with scene geometry. Additionally, a Geometry Nodes-based physical volume system allows scene objects to dynamically push through and displace the smoke. The underlying volumetric materials are built for Cycles, using a Volume Coefficients shader to calculate absorption and scattering.
