Matcaps Forever is a Blender add-on that automates the generation of matcap textures. It automatically sets up a scene with randomized materials and lighting to quickly produce matcaps suitable for sculpting and hard-surface modeling workflows. Users can customize the strength, color, and type of the key, fill, and back lights to achieve specific looks such as clay, ceramic, or metallic car paint finishes. The add-on includes an optional ground plane with a checker texture and exports the generated matcaps as EXR or PNG files, ready for use in Blender or external applications like ZBrush and Plasticity.
