VSE MarkIt is an add-on that brings parametric shape overlays directly into Blender's Video Sequence Editor (VSE). Users can add and customize shapes like rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, polygons, and speech bubbles without leaving the timeline or relying on compositing nodes. The generated shapes appear as standard scene strips with transparent backgrounds, allowing for typical editing operations like trimming and moving.
For more complex graphics, the tool integrates with the Grease Pencil toolset to create custom freehand annotations. It includes a visual shape library packed with 40 bundled presets, such as social media icons and utility symbols, and allows users to save, organize, and export their own custom shapes. Additionally, the add-on features a built-in animation mode for keyframing property changes like position, size, and rotation directly from the VSE interface.
