Anatomy of a Shot: Marching Army

This 4.5-hour video course demonstrates the complete workflow for creating a large-scale marching army shot. The curriculum spans multiple software packages, utilizing Blender alongside Character Creator, iClone, and After Effects.

The lessons cover simple environment creation, retrieving and rigging characters with Mixamo, and converting 3D animated characters into 2D particles to efficiently generate massive crowds. Additional modules cover hero character generation and texturing in Character Creator, animation setup in iClone, and final rendering and compositing in After Effects. A bonus lesson details a method for combining Cycles render passes with EEVEE volumetric passes. Included project files provide environment textures, soldier assets, 2D particle elements, and a volumetric dust preset.
